Project coordinator

Objective of the Position:  

 

The objective of this placement is to deliver on the YEB Project Core functions at Management level with a particular focus on the Organization’s directing and coordinating role for field operations.  The project will close in three months’ and the partnership is expected to renewed thereafter. The immediate objective of this function is to provide links to project resources while developing and sustaining VISO as a flexible, learning organization.  

 

The successful candidate will enter into an interim contract for three months to support the project close down with support from the other project management and project partner. Please note that the successful applicant will be required to start work immediately.

Expected outcomes:

 

Under the supervision of the program Manager, the incumbent performs the following tasks.

  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.

  • Compile activity, monthly reports of YEBP activities.

  • Participate in planning and execution of Youth Empowerment project activities.

  • Work with team on project work to keep project going according to schedule.

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time and within scope

  • Track and analyze projects’ performance, expenditures, procurement and report about any possible risks, overflows, deficits etc.

  • Provides support in organizing meetings, workshops and seminars with management and other development partners related to the project implementation as advised by the supervisor;

  • In the absence of supervisor, takes the roles of the program manager, prepares briefs or notes on matters relating to the project.

  • Opens and maintains standard and electronic filing system; maintains policy, confidential and general files and reference system.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

  • Participate in team’s performance reviews

  • Perform quality assurance

Others Skills: Work requires the extensive use of;

  • word processing, spreadsheet and other software packages;

  • e-mail and scheduling software to improve communications both internally and externally;

  • attention to detail and ability to produce good reports (this could be enhanced through mentorship).

Education: -

 

Essential:

  • Completion of Bachelor Degree in Education, Development studies, Business Administration or relevant academic degree from a recognized institution.

 

Desirable:

Working experience in Youth Empowerment project in the project area (region) or related work, preferably in a non-governmental organization or international Agencies for.

 

Languages: - Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Luo
